Dr. Danielle Marie Williams was born in the Bronx and raised in Long Island, NY. She graduated with a B.S. in Health Science from the University of Miami in 2008. She continued her education at Hampton University, earning her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) in May 2012. Dr. Williams has treated orthopedic, neurological, and pediatric patients for over 11 years and has particularly enjoyed working with pregnant, postpartum women, and those with pelvic pain in recent years. She has completed several orthopedic physical therapy courses and received her pelvic physical therapy training through the APTA Section on Pelvic Health, Herman & Wallace Institute, and Core Exercise Solutions (PCES certification). She is licensed to practice physical therapy in Florida, Maryland, and Georgia.
Dr. Williams recently returned to the Sunshine State (North Tampa Bay, FL) and founded Willow Physical Therapy & Wellness, LLC. She is passionate about providing exceptional pelvic physical therapy to women and orthopedic physical therapy to all genders, using a holistic approach to healing. She values her patients' feelings and understands the importance of taking the time to listen to their concerns. She believes all patients have the right to feel heard. Dr. Williams is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA), Yoga Alliance, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and Urban League Young Professionals Network. In her free time, Dr. Dani loves practicing yoga (she is a certified yoga instructor), listening to relaxing music, swimming, and taking long walks near water with her baby girl. She believes her divine purpose is to be an exceptional mother and physical therapist and hopes to instill the importance of caring for others in her daughter.
Why "WILLOW" Physical Therapy & Wellness?
A WILLOW TREE signifies strength, resilience, vitality & fertility. The branches bend, but are not easily broken. But when a branch is broken, it can create a new tree when planted in fertile soil. It is seen a survivor, living on and only getting stronger through hardship. It is a luxuriant tree and grows rapidly when it's roots are near water.
Life's obstacles, especially after giving birth to her beautiful baby girl, has made Dr. Dani realize she is much like the willow tree: Strong, easy to bend, but not easily broken! She vows to support and advocate for all of her patients, including pregnant, postpartum and breastfeeding Moms.
